Vivacia by monbaum Vivacia by monbaum
Vivacia from The Liveship Trader trilogy by Robin Hobb as she appears in my mind.
Not sure if this one should have a mature content filter... ?

I love this. I was having trouble visualising Vivacia, but I think this is perfect. I like the grain of the wood. :)

Hmm...you can really feel that wooden strength of hers...kudos to you.

Although I envisioned her hair as carved a bit more finely...but, oh well, that's just me.

Amazing...
Funny, the thing that stands out for me is her cheek... I love the way you've drawn the wood.
And her hands, they remind me of Old Croghan Man, a bog body I saw once. Okay, I know how odd that sounds, but if you look it up you'd see just how big a compliment that is!
It really is wonderful!

:D *grin* a bog body. No worries, I'll absolutely take that as a compliment. Glad you like her.

Yep, and in the display area (which is inside and awesome scrolly spirally thing) theres a bench so people can sit and watch him.

You're welcome!

this is a gorgeous illustration of Vivacia. I'm totally in the books now so I just love that pic. Very feminine.

I saw this a little while ago on your desk at home. Err, that is as a post on the John-howe's forums. :D

I recognised it the instant I saw it as a really good likeness of a vivacia before she was quickened - maybe?

Oh, this makes me think of when Vivacia is having her "inner struggle" period! I love it! Beatiful!

Thanks for the kind comments! And I KNEW I had spelled her name wrong, it was just too late and I was too tired to go check. ;-)

I was tired too... and I was thinking "that doesn't look right - isn't that a musical term?" LOL Glad I could help!

Vivace is Italian for "lively".
Vivace is used as an Italian musical term indicating a movement that is in a lively mood (and so usually in a fast tempo).

well done! ;-)

It's artistic, not pornographic. I love it! Nice one.

It's really nice and it definitely doesn't need to be labeled mature. People label far too much as mature.

Thanks so much! That pic is actually not finished yet and I thought about redoing it again. It's not "quite there" yet, if you know what I mean. Maybe I'm just being too much of a perfectionist.
To me, Vivace has never been a pair of boobies but someone growing independent of others so fast (never mind her dragon personality that surfaces later on) that it's almost scary and you don't quite know what to think. Should you like her or should you be on your guards?

Oh she's beautiful. I think it's one of the rare times when I see her depicted as an elegant figurehead and not as just a pair of boobies... :P
